Man suffers fractured skull when hit by falling objects

Our client had been assisting in the construction of farm animal housing when he was struck from behind by falling objects, suffering serious head and facial injuries.

Following strenuous negotiations by our specialist accident compensation lawyers, they were able to secure many thousands of pounds in compensation for our client’s serious injuries, which were sustained in a completely avoidable accident.

Accident compensation for worker hit on the head by iron bar

Whilst assisting the driver of a lorry delivering goods to his place of work, this client was hit on the head with an iron bar and suffered serious injuries which have proved to be permanent and life-changing.

The insurers for the defendant (the delivery company) refused to negotiate an acceptable settlement and our specialist work accident compensation lawyers issued court proceedings in order to secure a successful outcome for our client. However, we continued to negotiate strongly and were eventually able to agree a settlement in excess of £100,000 in work accident compensation, avoiding the need for a costly trial.

HSE report on prosecutions following accidents at work in Great Britain

In the last three months of 2010 many companies or individuals were prosecuted by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) for breaches of workplace regulations, and 101 of them were found guilty and fined.

Many of these successful prosecutions involved accidents at work and many resulted in injuries to maintenance workers, or workers injured due to faulty maintenance work.

Work accident compensation for worker trapped under falling objects

Our specialist work accident lawyers were able to secure a substantial sum in work accident compensation for this client, who was only in his early forties when his life was drastically changed.

Although our client’s employer, the defendant in this compensation claim, admitted liability, their insurers refused to negotiate an acceptable sum in work accident compensation. After advising our client to reject two previous offers, our work accident lawyers were forced to issue court proceedings before the other side made an offer which was a true reflection of our client’s injuries and their affects, and which he accepted.
