A qualified senior solicitor of many years, Caitriona has developed an in-depth understanding of the complex nature of handling compensation claims for asbestos-related diseases. Based in our Belfast office, Caitriona has represented clients who have developed these diseases from across Northern Ireland.
Caitriona’s clients have included sufferers of asbestosis, pleural plaques, and the always fatal disease, mesothelioma. Sadly, many of her clients who suffered from mesothelioma have died before their claim is concluded. Although Caitriona strives to complete such tragic cases as quickly as she can, it is not always possible to do so within the client’s lifetime. Her experience of road accidents has covered victims who were injured as passengers in a car, pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists, as well of course as drivers who are injured through no fault of their own.
Since joining us almost ten years ago, Caitriona has handled only personal injury compensation claims. She has developed strong links with the Derry Justice for Victims of Asbestos Group and has provided assistance to the group and its members for a number of years.
Caitriona regularly provides training and information to local trade union officials in the area of Personal Injury Law to encourage greater understanding and support for the victims of workplace accidents and industrial diseases, particularly asbestos-related diseases.
