Young man suffers noise induced deafness after exposure to excessive noise

Our client in this claim for compensation for noise induced deafness, had worked for the same employer since leaving school. Completing an apprenticeship, he continued to work for the defendant until diagnosed with hearing loss.

Our industrial disease lawyers were forced to issue court proceedings when the defendant’s insurers refused to negotiate an acceptable settlement, but before the trial date were successful in negotiating a fair sum in personal injury compensation. Like all of our clients, he kept 100% of the compensation awarded to him.

Noise-induced deafness compensation for plumber

Despite liability being denied by two employers, our specialist industrial disease lawyers secured occupational disease compensation for our client who had developed noise induced deafness.

For almost three decades, our client had been negligently exposed to excessive levels of noise by two large and well-known organisations. When they refused to negotiate an acceptable settlement in compensation for our client’s injury, we were forced to issue court proceedings. However, we continued to negotiate and before trial, we were able to reach a settlement that reflected our client’s disability.

Noise-induced deafness compensation secured for quarry worker

Having worked for most of his working life operating heavy equipment and vehicles, our client had visited his GP when he was unable to suffer any longer the buzzing in his ears. His GP referred him to ENT (Ear Nose and Throat) at the local hospital, who diagnosed tinnitus.

He asked our specialist occupational disease lawyers to represent him in making a claim for industrial deafness, or noise induced deafness. Although the defendant admitted liability, it was necessary for our specialist personal injury solicitors to issue court proceedings before the other side’s insurers would negotiate an acceptable settlement. We won £10,000 in compensation for our client’s injuries.

Noise-induced deafness compensation awarded to mechanic

At a hearing test, our client was advised that he had suffered a hearing loss, which may be attributable to his exposure to excessive noise levels. Our client was also suffering from a buzzing in his ears and was told by another medical professional that this is a symptom of potential noise damage.

He asked us to represent him in making a compensation claim for industrial deafness. The defendant admitted liability for our clients’ industrial injury. However, it was necessary for our specialist personal injury solicitors to issue Court proceedings before the other side’s insurers would negotiate an acceptable settlement, based upon the seriousness of the symptoms, and the claim settled out of Court for £10,000 in compensation.
