Compensation awarded to victim of supermarket slip injury

A woman was compensated after she slipped in a supermarket.

When she was leaving the self-checkout, she slipped on some food on the floor. This caused her to fall backwards, with the right side of her body hitting her forearm onto one of the checkout tills.

This fall caused ligament damage to her right shoulder and forearm, as well as bruising and swelling. The supermarket had not placed any hazard signs around the area to warn customers of the danger.
