Faulty train brakes caused whiplash injury

Our client suffered a whiplash injury while travelling on a passenger train which braked heavily causing her to be flung forward in her seat. A fault with the brakes had caused the train to halt suddenly.

Following her accident, our client was referred to our specialist personal injury lawyers who were able to secure compensation for her injuries from the train company who admitted liability for failing to maintain the train properly.

Soft tissue injury to neck and lower back

The force with which our client was flung forward by the sudden halt of the train resulted in a soft tissue injury to our client’s neck and lower back. She visited accident and emergency following the accident where she was given pain relief.

As a result of the accident, our client was unable to work for three days and attended a course of physiotherapy to treat her whiplash symptoms. She continued to suffer with headaches for six months and was restricted in her office role for eight weeks due to the limited movement of her back and neck.
