Insufficient Training Leads to Accident at Work

Clear Answers' lawyers Thompsons Solicitors recently represented a fire fighter injured whilst trying to free a member of the public from a trapped car.

The client had been asked to assist another fire fighting service with the rescue attempt and in order to free the trapped person the use of a ram was required.

The client was not familiar with the type of ram used at the scene of the accident as his fire service used a different type which was much lighter than the ram that he was expected to use.

The court found the claimant's employer was negligent for not training the client to operate the equipment properly.
