A pensioner from Essex has been awarded £115, 000 in compensation after he was exposed to asbestos whilst working as an apprentice in the 1950s.

Thomas George was awarded the compensation after working as a laggers mate for Kitsons Insulation of Barking.

The client was exposed to quantities of asbestos dust when he used to strip asbestos from pipes and boilers when he was just 16.

Mesothelioma

The client began to notice a problem with his breathing in January 2006 and was diagnosed with the asbestos related cancer mesothelioma in March of that year.
