Shop worker injured in accident at work receives compensation

A client who suffered a serious shoulder injury in a fall at work, asked for our expert legal advice in bringing a claim for compensation.

After advising our client to reject previous inappropriate offers, and through continued and robust negotiation, our specialist accident at work compensation lawyers won several thousand pounds in workplace accident compensation for our client’s injury in this fall at work.

Trip and fall accident in shop

Our client worked in a shop and was dealing with a customer at the time of the accident at work. She crossed the shop floor to collect information for the customer and as she did so, she tripped and fell over items which had been left on the floor by contractors working in the shop.

As she stumbled she fell onto racking, hitting her arm and shoulder before falling to the floor. As a result of this tripping accident, our client suffered an injury to her shoulder with on-going symptoms.

Contractors failed to work in a safe manner

The contractor had been engaged by our client’s employer to carry out work in the shop. The contractor had failed to ensure that the work was carried out in a manner that would not put workers or customers in the shop at risk.

They also failed to ensure the floor was free of any objects that would present a tripping hazard, and by causing someone to slip, trip or fall.
