Members of MRSA Action UK, a newly formed charity for victims of hospital super bugs such as MRSA and Clostridium Difficile have been preparing to lay floral tributes this evening at Westminster Abbey as a mark of respect.
The Medical Negligence team at Clear Answers' lawyers, Thompsons Solicitors are lending their voice to this new charity and welcomes all action taken that draws attention to the increase in the number of Health Care Acquired Infections throughout the country.
Cathryn Davies, partner at Clear Answers' lawyers Thompsons Solicitors explains: "We see many cases where our clients have suffered very poor outcomes because of Health Care Acquired Infections, particularly MRSA. Tragically, in a number of cases we have been contacted by the relatives of patients who have suffered fatal consequences. Additionally, many of us have personal experience of the consequences of such infections with friends and family. More action is clearly needed. Noting that most healthcare providers are dedicated professionals, one wonders whether the issue is budgets?"
Hospital Cleanliness
MRSA compensation claims require a scrupulous analysis to be undertaken with regards to the hospital's adherence to infection control policies. Allegations of negligence need to traceable and supported by dates and wherever possible staff names. Cathryn Davies states: "We advise potential clients to make a formal complaint in all MRSA and other hospital acquired infection cases, both as an effective way of obtaining details that may assist their case and to ensure awareness of the rate and the effect Health Care Acquired Infections Make to hospital management.
