Train company employee awarded compensation after injury during protest

Our specialist injury solicitors have secured a compensation payment for a train company employee who was injured during a protest.

Despite being completely outside of their usual job role, our client was asked by the train company to form a human barrier between protestors and a train at the station. As the protestors marched forward the person was knocked over and sustained a shoulder injury.

Following the incident their GP diagnosed an injury to the right shoulder for which they required two injections. They were then recommended for a course of 15 sessions of physiotherapy and severe symptoms persisted for 12 months after the initial injury. Our client was told to take 11 weeks off work to recover and restricted movement in the right shoulder remains.

The employer initially denied liability but after contacting our specialist solicitors our client was awarded compensation for the injuries sustained.
