Woman awarded compensation after suffering needle stick injuries at workplace

A woman was handling rubbish at her place of work when she suffered several needle stick injuries.

She had previously reported the exposed needles in the rubbish and not having the appropriate puncture protected gloves to carry out the task to management.

As a result of the lack of protective equipment, she sustained needle stick injuries to her fingers and subsequently had two weeks off work.

After contacting our accident at work team, the worker was awarded a compensation sum for her injuries and loss of earnings.
