Work accident compensation for office worker

Although her employer admitted liability for our client’s accident at work, their insurers refused to negotiate an acceptable sum in compensation for her several injuries.

Our specialist work accident lawyers were forced to issue court proceedings, though they continued to negotiate strongly prior to the trial date. They were successful in agreeing satisfactory terms, and our client received a five-figure sum in compensation.

Accident at work

Our client had been carrying out her normal duties on the day of her accident at work. Opening a tall cabinet, it toppled forward towards her. Although she tried to hold the cabinet back, one of the drawers shot out. It narrowly missed a colleague but our client was struck in several places on her arms, legs and back. She was immediately taken to her local Accident & Emergency Department.

Consequences of injuries at work

As a result of her accident at work, our client suffered soft tissue injury to her arm, knee, neck and spine and it was established through several MRI scans that these injuries had accelerated pre-existing conditions.

The result of this was that even after several months, when our client returned to work, she was unable to cope with full-time work and was forced to reduce her hours several years earlier than she had planned, and of course had to accept a reduced salary.
