Deep Vein Thrombosis - A Story of Medical Negligence

Our client's husband died of Deep Vein Thrombosis due to medical negligence by his GP. He collapsed and died of a pulmonary embolism caused by DVT after his doctor failed to diagnose it. He had visited his doctor on three occasions to complain of a painful leg and collapsed just three days after last seeing the GP.

We acted as lawyers for his and brought a claim for medical negligence against the GP. The claim for negligence was fought fiercely by the GP's Medical Defence Union, but they settled before trial and his widow received £40,000 compensation.

She commented: "I am very pleased with the service from my lawyers. We are very grateful for all the hard work they did for us in obtaining this result...as a family we found (it) of enormous benefit in reaching a detailed understanding of the events leading up to his death."
