Successful serious injury compensation claims
Below are just a couple of examples of serious injury claims for which Paul successfully won compensation for his clients.
Seriously injured at work - Crushing injury to arm and hand
Paul was able to secure £300,000 in accident compensation for this client who suffered serious injuries when his arm and hand were crushed by a machine in a serious accident at work. A factory worker, Paul’s client was left permanently disabled as a result of his serious injuries.
As he worked on fixing a machine, his sleeve caught in the workings and dragged his hand and arm into it. Despite two previous accidents on a similar machine, no emergency stop button was nearby and he had to wait until it was switched off by a colleague, who had to run downstairs to the control cabin to do so.
Although he has been able to return to work, he is unable to carry out his previous duties and has had to accept work at a lower level of pay.
Our client’s employer admitted liability and Paul was able to secure a series of interim payments for his client. This provided essential financial support as the case proceeded and Paul was able to settle the case out of court for this substantial compensation.
Our client’s employer has since installed more emergency stop buttons and additional safety measures to ensure the serious injuries suffered by our client are not repeated.
Road accident compensation claim – Cyclist has leg amputated
Paul was able to secure £750,000 in road accident compensation for this client who suffered serious injuries in a cycling accident, and eventually had to have his leg amputated.
Paul’s client was hit by a car whilst training for a charity cycle event. He was hit from behind by the car, and was catapulted onto the car’s windscreen and suffered a brain injury as well as having his leg broken in five places. Despite numerous operations over many months, it was eventually necessary to amputate his leg, and he now needs to use a prosthetic limb.
After securing an admission of liability from the driver, Paul was able to obtain a series of interim payments before successfully concluding this case and securing the substantial compensation which his client required to ensure he receives the appropriate treatment and equipment, including three specially manufactured prosthetic limbs. This will allow him to be financially secure in the future and to lead as normal and as active a life as possible.
