Noise induced deafness
Our client worked for two employers in heavy industry over a period of 16 years. The client was not provided with any hearing protection. When he became aware of a significant hearing loss he attended his doctor and was diagnosed as suffering hearing loss due to his negligent exposure to this excessive noise.
One of the companies had since gone into administration. The liability insurers proved to be extremely difficult to deal with. After issuing court proceedings, Derek successfully sued both companies and after extensive negotiations obtained industrial disease compensation for the client.
