Man receives compensation after being injured in unsafe workplace

A sales assistant at a DIY store who was injured at work pursued, and won, a personal injury compensation claim with support from our specialist lawyers.

Our client was re-stocking shelves with heavy duty goods during his night shift. The stock fell from the shelves because the metal beam which had been installed to hold the goods in place had not been secured properly.

6 months of physiotherapy and unable to work

As a result of the accident, our client suffered several fractures to his right foot as well as extensive bruising and other soft tissue injuries. He was fitted with with a cast upon arrival at A&E and he later underwent multiple check-ups and a 6-month course of physiotherapy.

Initially, his employer accepted primary liability but alleged that our client had been partly responsible for his injuries. Our lawyers rejected this claim and the offer that came with it outright. The employer finally conceded and offered full compensation without deductions of any kind to our client.
