Compensation awarded after pothole trip

A woman has been awarded compensation after tripping over a pothole and injuring her ankle.

While walking on a public footpath, the woman caught her foot on a pothole that had not been flagged by a hazard sign and tripped, bruising her ankle and causing swelling and pain. She attended the Accident and Emergency Department of a local hospital and was later referred by her GP to have an x-ray. Luckily there had been no break, but she experienced three weeks of discomfort and could not carry out her usual domestic duties.

The liable party admitted responsibility after the woman contacted our personal injury specialists. She was awarded compensation for the pain she had experienced.
