Dangerous footpath caused elderly lady to fracture cheekbone

Our client, an elderly lady, tripped on a raised part of concrete on a footpath leading to a church and fell to the ground, injuring her head and face.

She contacted Thompsons Solicitors to seek expert legal advice on her personal injury claim. Our specialist personal injury lawyers were able to secure several thousands of pounds in compensation for her injuries because the church had failed to adequately maintain or inspect the footpath which was dangerous to users.

Poorly maintained footpath

Our client had been walking along a footpath leading to the church. She tripped on a section of raised concrete and fell, landing with some force onto the left side of her head and face. The impact of the fall caused a fracture to her left cheek bone and has permanently affected the sensation in her cheek, nose and upper lip.

She suffered mild concussion, and severe bruising to her knee and shoulder from the fall. Due to the fact that our client was elderly, she took several weeks to recover from her injuries. She has since been left with permanent discomfort in her left cheek.
