Engineer injures back lifting heavy door

A maintenance engineer has successfully pursued compensation having injured his back lifting a heavy door at his work place.

Our client was getting a door from the storage room at his work to fit on an electrical box. He had to move many heavy, wooden doors out of the way to get to the one he needed and when he did, the door was heavier than expected.

The engineer suffered damage to his back which he had previous problems with and was forced to take six weeks off work. He returned to light duties at work after this time and took around six months to fully recover from the incident injuries.

His employer eventually admitted liability after the client contacted our personal injury solicitors. He received full compensation.
