Engineer secures compensation for fractured finger

A contractual engineer, who was injured at work as a result of poorly maintained equipment, contacted our specialist personal injury lawyers to investigate a compensation claim.

Having repaired a control panel, our client was carrying it back to its position when the panel door swung open, trapping his middle finger between the hinge and the door.

Eight months to recover

On account of the accident, our client suffered a severe strain and fracture to his left middle finger which required treatment in hospital. The pain of the injury caused sleep disturbance for four days and our client took eight months to fully recover.

Our client’s employer admitted breaching its health and safety obligations by failing to properly maintain the control panel door. With the help of our specialist lawyers, our client received full compensation.
