Broken glass lacerated finger of supermarket distribution worker

Our client who worked in a supermarket distribution centre suffered a badly lacerated finger caused by broken glass which was sticking out of the load he was carrying during his routine duties.

Following his accident at work, our client was referred to our specialist personal injury lawyers who were able to secure compensation from his employer. The box had been left in this dangerous state by another distribution worker and the supermarket was therefore vicariously liable for the negligent act of its employee.

Injury took six weeks to heal

Our client was unaware that there was a shard of broken glass sticking out of the case of whisky he was carrying. He suffered a laceration injury to his right middle finger which needed A&E treatment and required stitches. The cut took six weeks to heal and our client was left with residual sensitivity on his finger tip which is expected to last for 18 months.
