Prison worker awarded compensation following strain injury

An injured prison worker has secured a compensation settlement after being instructed to carry excessively heavy cleaning supplies by her employer.

The claimant was asked by her employers to carry large detergent bottles, each holding approximately 20 litres when full, from the prison stockroom to the prison laundry. In doing so, she suffered a serious muscle strain which resulted in her needing four weeks off work and a course of physiotherapy.

After contacting our specialist accident at work solicitors, she was awarded compensation for her injuries.
