Roofer wins compensation after serious drill accident

A workman has secured a settlement after suffering injuries caused as a result of faulty equipment.

The claimant was working at height drilling out old rivets in a roof in order to replace the stop ends inside. He was using a timber bench while on the roof, however it was too short to span the area in which he was working. As he progressed in his work, the bench tipped and he fell forward.

Though he was caught by his harness, the drill he had been using fell into his mouth causing injuries to his lips, teeth and nose. He sought immediate medical attention and required a number of medical tests to assess the extent of his injuries.

After contacting our specialist accident at work solicitors he was awarded compensation for his injuries.
