Shop worker injured by obstructed doorway

Our client was involved in an accident while leaving the staff room at the large clothing store where she worked. A colleague had carelessly left a box behind the door which blocked her route and she fell over it, landing hard on her knees and elbow.

Following the accident, our client contacted the specialist personal injury team to recover damages for her pain and financial loss.

Heavy fall fractured her elbow

As our client fell over the box, she landed heavily on her elbow. Upon seeking medical attention, our client was told her elbow was broken, something which exacerbated our client's pre-existing arthritis in her arm for over six months.

Our specialist solicitors were able to pursue a claim against her employer as they were vicariously liable for the colleague who had wrongly placed the box behind the door obstructing the threshold. Following the rejection of the first offer by the defendant, our personal injury team successfully renegotiated a higher settlement.
