Manual worker compensated after faulty machinery led to crushed hand

A machine operator, who was injured while attempting to repair a malfunction with a broken wire reeler, contacted our specialist personal injury lawyers to pursue a compensation claim.

As the operator attempted to reattach the reel to the machine, one of the clamps, which appeared to be open, malfunctioned and closed on our client's hand. After investigation, it was found that the accident was caused by several faults with the machine which should have been checked and addressed by the employer.

Permanent scarring

On account of the accident our client suffered fractures, lacerations and permanent scarring to his hand which meant he could not work for four weeks and thereafter being resigned to light duties for a further four weeks.

Once approached by our specialist personal injury lawyers with medical evidence, the company admitted liability and paid out full compensation to our client.
