Karl De-Loyde - Accident compensation solicitor

Wolverhampton work accident compensation solicitor

Karl is based in our Wolverhampton office. Qualified as a solicitor in the 1990's, Karl has only ever represented injured people, primarily across the West Midlands and surrounding areas.

However, Karl is currently handling group litigation for the largest outbreak of respiratory disease in Europe. In 2003 the engine making division of MG Rover Group (Powertrain) had an outbreak of respiratory disease with more than 10% of the workforce contracting a variety of symptoms, mainly extrinsic allergic alveolitis, and occupational asthma.

This complex and high profile claim for occupational disease compensation has given Karl a unique understanding in matters related to occupational respiratory diseases. This in-depth knowledge has enabled him to be extremely successful in securing occupational disease compensation for his clients who have been injured through the negligence of their employer. Diseases such as vibration white finger, dermatitis, occupational asthma and asbestos-related diseases such as mesothelioma, are some of the many compensation claims that Karl has successfully fought.

A Wolverhampton solicitor, Karl has represented clients who have suffered work accidents across a range of industries, including many from the extensive manufacturing base in and around Wolverhampton. Such accident compensation claims have included manual handling injuries, slips, trips and falls in the workplace, being hit by falling objects, falls from height, and many of the vast range of personal injuries that can occur in a factory environment.

Karl is known to be equally at home negotiating settlements or pursuing cases to trial. If the defendant refuses to accept liability for his client's injuries, or they are unwilling to offer an acceptable sum in compensation, Karl has no hesitation in issuing court proceedings in order to secure the right outcome for his client, and obtain the maximum compensation to which they are entitled.

Karl is a member of APIL (the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers) where he is registered as a Senior Litigator.

Successful compensation claims

Here are a few examples of work accident compensation claims for which Karl has successfully fought for clients, injured by employers across the West Midlands.

Work accident compensation claim - Crushing injury

Karl secured almost £300,000 in work accident compensation for this West Midland's client, including a substantial interim payment which eased the financial burden somewhat on his client whilst the claim for compensation progressed.

Karl's client in this work accident compensation claim had been working on a large machine, when the steel door trapped him against the wall causing abdominal injury, he was airlifted to hospital and spent 6 weeks as an in patient.

Work accident compensation claim - Struck by a flying object

Karl was able to negotiate over £200,000 in work accident compensation for this client who was injured whilst overseeing the dismantling of a large advertising board at a public venue.

It was very windy and part of the material was picked up in a gust of wind and flew at her, striking her on the back of the head. Karl's client needed 3 operations to her neck and has been left with permanent pain and discomfort, together with psychological problems.

Work accident compensation claim - Hit by falling object

Karl's client in this work accident suffered serious leg injuries when a heavy object fell from a hoist above him. The item fell onto his leg, causing a serious fracture. The medical evidence suggests he will suffer badly with arthritis in the future. This will impact upon his earning potential and may force him to retire from his current occupation by age 60.

Karl was able to secure an interim payment for his client, which went some way to easing the financial burden caused by his not being able to work. Karl then went on to secure almost £60,000 in work accident compensation for this client, including the interim payment. However, this was not before he was forced to issue court proceedings when the other side refused to negotiate an acceptable sum. In the period running up to the trial, the other side made several offers which Karl advised his client to reject, before accepting the final offer before the trial date.

Clients who received accident compensation

Below is just one example of the many letters of thanks received by Karl each year, from grateful accident compensation clients.

" … delivered a excelent service throughout my case. you were successful in obtaining compensation and was pleased with the outcome. i would recomend … to anyone who needed help. can i say thank you very much for all the help you have given me. "
